The 2025 Land & Youth Digital Conference is a free global event amplifying youth voices in land and climate change governance. It will work as a space for young groups to articulate the ideas they want to champion leading up to, during, and beyond COP 30 in Brazil.

The objective is to put youth priorities at the center of global decisions on land and climate action.

The conference will bring together a diverse range of participants, including young Indigenous leaders, practitioners, and surveyors. The Land Portal Foundation is convening this event in collaboration with Youth Initiative for Land in Africa (YILAA), Global Alliance of Territorial Communities (GATC), Arab Youth Center (AYC), Espaço Feminista, The Invisible Thread (TINTA), Asian NGO Coalition for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (ANGOC), and Conexion LA.

Themes

In May, we consulted with young leaders from indigenous groups, social initiatives, NGOs, and other constituencies across 16 countries about themes to explore during the conference. The results were as diverse as the participants’ backgrounds, though they all revolved around land not only as a source of livelihood and dispute, but also as a source of identity.

Format

To ensure that the conference is both engaging and impactful, we will consider a range of activities, including panel discussions, roundtables, interactive sessions, storytelling, and more. Thanks to its digital format, the conference will overcome economic and geographical barriers, creating an inclusive space where youth can lead relevant conversations.

Schedule

The three-day online event will include sessions in different slots of the day to allow for people in different time zones to join.

Call for Session Proposals

Young leaders and organizations working with young people concerned about land rights and climate change are invited to submit proposals for 75-90 min sessions. Details about the submission will be provided soon on this page!
